As for the nameless, faceless music you describe, the answer is still an enthusiastic YES! 'Indian Giver' is an all-time fave, as is 'Beg, Borrow, and Steal' by the Rare Breed, later to be called the Ohio Express. The music was infectious and irresistable. It's like 'I know I shouldn't like this stuff, but...' 'Gimme Gimme Good Lovin'' by the Crazy Elephant from the end of '69 was another one.
About that time, the Brits took our idea and did the same thing. Tony Burroughs and Joey Levine put out early 70's Bubblegum like 'Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes,' by the Edison Lighthouse, 'United We Stand,' by the Brotherhood of Man, 'My Baby Loves Lovin'' by the White Plains, 'Gimme Dat Ding' by the Pipkins, and 'Life Is A Rock, But the Radio Rolled Me' by Reunion, among others.
