Hurricane Katrina: One Guide's Story
Thursday September 8, 2005
Well, I'm back. And I'm okay. Hurricane Katrina hit my hometown of New Orleans, as you know by now, with historic and unprecedented force. I managed to evacuate to slightly higher ground, but we were still hit with what was essentially a Category 2 storm here, which meant that the power was out for some time. All is more or less well here now, however, and oldies.about.com is back in business as of today. My deepest sentiments go out to all of our visitors affected by this tragedy, and my thanks to About.com for understanding my absence. I'll be creating a thread on the forum soon so that we can all share our stories and help each other through this crisis. My best wishes to you all, and may you be blessed by whatever God you worship.
