The Top Ten Oldies of 1964

The British Invasion was the top story of 1964, but Detroit, New York, Nashville, and L.A. were still contributing to the cause, which meant that rock and R&B were becoming harder in general, beginning to move away from the lush romanticism of the earlier decade and opening itself up to new ideas. Real change would follow the initial onslaught, but for now, rock was still fun. And still innocent. (Or was it?)
