The Worst Number One Hits of the Oldies Era
Monday May 22, 2006
Someone loved them, once: these ten horrible oldies all made it, somehow, to Number One in the US between 1955 and 1979. Some for up to five weeks at a time! No mere novelty hits or soft-rock punchlines, many of these shockingly poor examples of pop are nearly forgotten now, despite having been the most popular songs in the biggest market on Earth. Enjoy them all over again! (Or don't.)

Rambler! I can’t remember the last time you posted anything on rec.arts.tv.mst3k.misc–and I for one, miss you. I had to read a message on the Yahoo group for the oldies show WABC in New York is running to hear from you.
Drop me a line when you get a chance.
Obviously you’re too young to appreciate or know the sweeter side of music when you hear it! The times were kinder, the music/lyric content more meaningful to a love-struck teen. Sorry you missed them. At least our generation can look back to a great time of loyalty, patriotism and honor when we hear a song from the past.
