The Beatles Songs: "Mr. Moonlight"

Thursday November 20, 2008
The Worst Beatles Song Ever. That's what a lot of Beatles fans often call this Beatles For Sale cover. Yet the original was actually quite popular around the "Beat group" scene, and this wasn't the last time the group went to the good "Doctor" for musical medicine, either! Find out all about "Mr. Moonlight" in my latest Beatles fact sheet.

Robert, your well-researched pieces on Beatles’ tracks are always worth the wait and are always top-notch. Kudos to you and thanks for such well-researched, well-developed articles! Truly appreciated! Peace and love, man.

Actually, this was the only tune that the Hollies ever recorded before the Beatles. It was on the Hollies’ first album, which came out in January of 1964, some eleven months before the Beatles’ version in November (which was also when the Hollies’ second album was released). Anyhow, the Merseybeats beat them both to it, releasing it as a single in 1963.
