Phil Spector Murder Trial Witness to Make Movie About Lana Clarkson

By November 8, 2012

Follow me on:

She was the most controversial witness for the defense in the Phil Spector murder trial, but also one of victim Lana Clarkson's closest friends. Now Irene Elizabeth Laughlin, better known to the Sunset Strip as club promoter Punkin Pie, is in the process of filming a movie about her friend, who a Los Angeles jury ruled in 2009 was shot in the mouth and killed by the famous "Wall of Sound" producer. All Six Feet, slated to begin filming early next year, tells the story of Clarkson's last week on Earth in 2003... at least according to Laughlin, who was vilified for suggesting, at the trial, that Lana was suicidal in her last days. It was a main element of Spector's unsuccessful defense; ironically, prosecutors claimed at the time that her story was concocted specifically to produce just such a movie deal.
