To quite a number of people, even ardent Beatles fans, "Revolution 9" isn't music at all. But then, it wasn't meant to be: the most controversial track the group ever made was a performance nonetheless, crafted by John (with some help from George and Yoko) out of the ashes of a #1 smash, then strung together as a vision of apocalypse.
