Spring may be far from in the air, but with Valentine's Day just around the corner, I'm taking a look at the greatest oldies romantic duets of the 50s, 60s, and 70s... not just the obvious pledges of love and devotion (although they're here, too), but also funny, sad, tragic, and otherwise unconventional duets that symbolize the perils of love as well as the joys. THIS one, which everybody always forgets about, actually peaked on the charts precisely on Valentine’s Day of 1968. I’ve always been amused by what sounds like the exact same organ that was used on the Monkees’ original 1965 version of “I Wanna Be Free.”
