Former Jersey Boys Move on to Doo-Wop

By March 11, 2013

Follow me on:

The massive success of the recent Jersey Boys musical has introduced whole new generations to the timeless music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, but two former cast members have since moved on to spread the word about the Seasons' main influence -- doo-wop. The Doo Wop Project, also born on Broadway, is helmed by former Jersey Boys Jarrod Spector and Dominic Scaglione, and it seeks to recreate the classic New York sound of doo-wop with a full backing band, five vocalists, and a choice playlist including several genre classics like "Since I Don't Have You," "Speedoo." and "Little Bitty Pretty One." What's more, they apply that classic harmony sound to several hits of more recent vintage from the likes of Cyndi Lauper, Amy Winehouse, Michael Jackson, and Jason Mraz. Want to revive doo-wop for your event? Book them here!
