The oldies.about.com Mailbag
Can't find what you need on the net? Your Oldies Music Guide can!

Got an oldies question you need help with? Something on the site you'd like to comment on? Oldies news you want to pass along? Suggestion for an upcoming article? You can always contact me directly HERE! Who knows, once a week you may see your question answered on the site? I answer all e-mails, but before you send one, please remember two things: 1) I can only answer one song request per week per visitor, and 2) Not every inquiry will show up on this page, only the ones I find interesting enough. Also, be kind - I don't respond to rudeness very well, when I respond at all.
Important! If you're trying to identify an oldie, go to this page first - the answer you need may already be there!
Finally, I'm not omnipotent, so if I DO happen to get something wrong here, feel free and correct me. Kindly. :)
Greetings and Happy New Year!
I hope you can help me, or at least give me a lead, with trying to locate The Association. My boss is having a 50th birthday party and would like to hire them to perform. I have not had too much luck in finding websites, or fan club information on The Association. Do you have any ideas on how I could possibly track them down to try to hire them for a party? I would really appreciate any information!
Thanks a million,
Alicia
Alicia, if anybody would know, these guys would:
Happy New Year! And good luck! -- Rob
Thanks in advance for any help that you could provide. My father is planning his funeral services and is an avid golfer. One of the songs he would like played during the service is "Straight down the middle" which is a golfing song, but he's not sure who sang the song. I'd assume it would be someone like Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, maybe Dean Martin, etc. Would you happen to know who the artist was and where I might be able to purchase the song?
Again, thank you for your valuable time and God bless!!!
Mike
It's definitely Bing... and this is probably the best comp to find it on...
Thanks for visiting, Mike! -- Rob
Hi, Rob! I have known about you since you had the beatles.about.com site. I loved that and was so p***ed that day I tried coming and saw it was gone! Your oldies site is great too!
I have a question for you. I know Dean Martin sings this, but what is the name of that song on that eBay commercial? "That's on EBay..."
Thanks,
Jon
Hey Jon! Great to hear from you again! Feel free and be as much a part of this site as you were the Beatles one. :)
As for that Dean Martin song, it's called "That's Amore." -- Rob
Rob:
Just a note to say thanks for that terrific Bobby Darin piece, a labor of love if there ever was one. Every time I begin to get jaded about cyberspace with all its spam and pop-ups and other irritations, I run into something like this and it seems worthwhile again. Again, thanks much.
Bob
Hey, thank YOU! Compliments like that are what keep me going! -- Rob
