Pick Hit Of The WeekVarious Artists: Lost Legends of Surf Guitar: Shockwave
Label: SundazedEveryone's favorite hot-rod/surf label has done it again, releasing the fourth and final installment of their soon-to-be-legendary series "Legends Of Surf Guitar." This fourth volume, entitled simply "Shockwave," isn't appreciably different from the first three, released in '03 -- it's "only" 20 more classic early-Sixties instrumentals from a bunch of fantastic heartland surf bands you've probably never heard of, taken directly from the original source tapes. If you already know who The Truants, The Pastels, Zorba and the Greeks, or Johnny and the Shy Guys were, you probably lived just down the street from their garage. But if you don't, you may be very pleasantly surprised at the gems here.
