October 23: Presley's father, Vernon, his second wife, Dee, and his new adopted family move from Graceland to a nearby home at 1266 Dolan in Memphis.
November 18: Beatles press officer Brian Sommerville informs Hal Wallis associate Paul Nathan that the group are huge fans of the King and would love to appear at the end of Elvis' next Paramount picture (which would eventually be 1966's
Paradise, Hawaiian Style). The deal is never finalized.
November 24: Elvis returns to Graceland for the holidays, having finished work on
Tickle Me.
December 14: As part of his annual charity gift, Elvis donates $55,000 to various local organizations.
December 25: The Memphis Mafia present Elvis with their group Christmas gift: a "tree of life" pendant inscribed with all their names. However, Larry Geller's name is conspicuously absent. Elvis sends the gift back to be corrected.
