Where can I find girl groups on video and DVD?

By Robert Fontenot, About.com

Question: Where can I find girl groups on video and DVD?

Answer: Annette Funicello may have made a name for herself in the "beach" movies of the Sixties, and of course Connie Francis can be found in "Where The Boys Are," but other girl-group legends made cinematic apperances in their heyday. Here's a partial list:

Cilla Black: Ferry Cross the Mersey (1965)
JoAnn Campbell: Hey, Let's Twist (1966)
The Chiffons: Disk-O-Tek Holiday (1966)
Jackie DeShannon: Surf Party (1964)
The Exciters: Bikini Beach (1964)
Lesley Gore: Girls on the Beach (1965), Ski Party (1965)
Dee Dee Sharp: Don't Knock the Twist (1962)
Millie Small: Disk-O-Tek Holiday (1966)
Joanie Sommers: The Lively Set (1964)
The Supremes: Beach Ball (1965)
The Toys: It's a Bikini World (1967)

In addition, the videos Girl Groups - The Story of a Sound (1983) and The T.A.M.I.-T.N.T. Show (1965) feature some great archival footage of girl groups in action back in the day.
