Question: Are there books and movies about the Shag scene?
Answer: As far as movies go, there's 1989's Shag: The Movie, but it's mostly a coming-of-age movie set in the shag scene. In other words, it has as much to do with Shag as Frankie and Annette movies have to do with surfing.
There's also a book entitled Shag: The Legendary Dance of the South, which is a decent examination of the Myrtle Beach scene and its history.
