Paul McCartney and Heather Mills officially split
For once the tabloid press in Britain is, sadly, on the money -- Paul McCartney and wife Heather Mills McCartney have agreed to separate, the duo confirmed in a joint statement issued Tuesday. The statement, posted on Paul's official website at paulmccartney.com, reads as follows:"Having tried exceptionally hard to make our relationship work given the daily pressures surrounding us, it is with sadness that we have decided to go our separate ways. Our parting is amicable and both of us still care about each other very much but have found it increasingly difficult to maintain a normal relationship with constant intrusion into our private lives, and we have actively tried to protect the privacy of our child. Separation for any couple is difficult enough, but to have to go through this so publicly, especially with a small daughter is immensely stressful. We hope, for the sake of our baby daughter that we will be given some space and time to get through this difficult period."
The news is a bit of a shock to the Beatle community, even though reports of Heather's distress with the constant media attention have been circling for months. Indeed, Mills McCartney had recently threatened to sue the Brit tabloids for their endless speculation. Paul defended Heather in a separate statement on his site:
"I'm really disappointed that during a very difficult and emotional time for both Heather and myself there are certain people in the media who are writing things about Heather that are just plain untrue. It's been suggested that she married me for the money and there is not an ounce of truth in this. She is a very generous person who spends most of her time trying to help others in greater need than herself. All the work she does is unpaid so these stories are ridiculous and completely unfounded. I'm very sad to see that some insensitive people would choose a moment like this to spread these vicious rumours."
The couple have a two-year-old daughter, Beatrice. Recent reports confirm that the two are living separately.

To blame the media when using your “star power” for causes is conflicted reasoning. I think Heather showed herself to be immature and not present her arguments well. Two out of touch opinionated rich people who have lost touch with the working class. Paul, in the end, is better off. Heather should also show her ethics by not asking for more than, let’s say 5 million. Any more and it will be proof that people were right to suspect her ambitions for $$$.

Commenting on Paul & Heather’s break-up. I am sorry for both of them, but I am the most saddened for Beatrice. It seems like Heather knew she would be in the spotlight, constanty when she married Paul. I don’t think it would take 4 years to figure this out. And if she was planning on a baby with Paul, she would have to know the “Media Hounds” would be everywhere. So I hope that she doesn’t try to get a large portion of his empire. That should go directly to his children with Linda, and also Beatrice. Heather is young enough to carry on with her life, and maybe meet another rich man she can marry. Sorry Paul……….But we loved you and your music for a longer time than Heather has been on this earth. We wish you the very best, and the same to all your children. Good Health and Happiness!
