History:
- Written by Paul en route to Hamburg, Germany in April of 1962, this Latin-flavored number was said to be Paul's attempt at a ballad in the style of the Shirelles' "Soldier Boy." Despite popular myth, it was not addressed to his girlfriend during the Hamburg days, Dot Rhone, although Dot assumed it was at the time!
- Unlike "Love Me Do," recorded at the same session, there is no alternate version of this song with Ringo Starr on drums. Once again, George Martin enlisted Andy White instead.
Trivia:
- As with "Love Me Do," the original master tape of this song is lost to history.
- Supposedly, this was not considered for an A-side release because Rosemary Clooney was currently enjoying a hit with Johnny Mercer's song of the same name, but this seems unlikely.
