Question: What were some of the Northern Soul hot spots?
Answer: During Northern Soul's heyday, which lasted approximately from 1971 to 1978, dozens of clubs across the UK hosted all-nighters, or at the very least dance nights. (Because the country's liquor laws forbade selling alcohol after 2 am, these clubs were usually completely "dry.") The most popular of these was the Wigan Casino, to which most of the Twisted Wheel dancers migrated upon the club's closing, but Blackpool Mecca (Blackpool) was close on its heels.

Major Northern Soul venues of the late 1960s included: The Vic Lounge (Halifax), At the Top (Wigan), Nottingham Palais (Nottingham), The Brit (Nottingham), The Cock Inn (Ripley), Monaco Ballroom (Hindley), Samantha's (Sheffield), The George (Wilby), The 76 Club (Burton-On-Trent), Catacombs (Wolverhampton), Va Va's (Bolton), The Nite Owl (Liecester), Tiffany's (coalville), The Ritz (Manchester).

Major Northern Soul venues of the 1970s included: Centrepoint (Burnley), Cavendish Club (Blackburn), The Cat's Whiskers (Burnley), The Catacombs (Wolverhampton), The Carlton Club (Warrington), Queen Hall (Leeds), The Brittania Rowing Club (Trentside), Manchester Unity Club (Beeston), The Cricket Club (Burnley), Lytham Football Club (Lytham), The Blue Orchid (Draycott), Leigh Casino (Leigh), The Pier (Cleethorpes), Winter Gardens (Cleethorpes), The Bellvue (Manchester), Queens Hall (Bradford), Merry Go Round (Manchester), Bolton Football Club (Bolton).

Major Northern Soul venues of the early 1980s included: The Mayfair Suite (Newcastle-on-Tyne), Central Pier (Morecambe), Queens Hall (Bradford), Astoria Ballroom (Leeds).
